Get your device connected to the free campus wireless network...

Staff at the Technology Service Desk in the SLC (underneath the library) are more than happy to assist you to connect your device to the campus wireless network. However, if you'd like to attempt to connect your device to the wireless network without assistance you will need:
  1. To be on campus and in or within a short distance of the campus buildings or within the main quads
  2. To know your Portal/Internet/Email login details
  3. Select the DETNSW wireless network
  4. Open your Internet browser
  5. You will be required to enter your DoE credentials@detnsw

NOTE: When using the campus wireless networks you are accessing the Internet via a proxy. This requires different browser settings to when you access the Internet from a private or home network. To avoid having to turn these settings on and off between home and school several options exist:
  • the use of network 'Locations' (Mac users only)
  • using a different browser for home and another for on-campus - this is the method supported by the Technology Service Desk. If you wish to utilise either of the other options you will need configure them without Service Desk support.
  • using quick proxy switching browser extensions
